Privacy Policy

OSCope (the “App”) does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information or data. The App has no servers and no accounts; everything runs entirely on your device and your local network.
1. Information we collect
The App collects no personal information whatsoever. Specifically, it does not gather, store, or transmit any of the following:
- Personally identifiable information such as name, email address, or phone number
- Location, contacts, photos, or other on-device data
- Advertising IDs or unique device identifiers
- Usage analytics, tracking data, or crash reports
2. Settings stored on your device
For convenience, the App stores your communication settings (such as the receive port and the default target IP / port) locally on your device. These values never leave your device and are never sent to the developer or any third party. Deleting the App removes these settings from your device.
3. Local network communication
The App's core purpose is to send and receive OSC (Open Sound Control) messages over UDP. This communication happens directly between your device and the destinations you specify, on your local network.
The contents of the OSC messages you send and receive are processed only in memory on your device, to display them in the App and its log. They are never sent to or collected by the developer or any third party. The log is limited to the latest 200 messages held temporarily on the device and is discarded when the App is closed.
4. Permissions
The App uses the following permissions solely to communicate over your local network for OSC, and for no other purpose:
- Local Network access (iOS): to send and receive OSC with devices on the same network
- Network access (Android: INTERNET / ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE / ACCESS_WIFI_STATE): same as above
5. Third-party services
The App includes no third-party analytics, advertising networks, or any other SDKs that collect data.
6. Children's privacy
Because the App collects no personal information, it does not gather information from anyone, including children.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the law or in the App's functionality. If we make material changes, we will note them on this page along with a revised date.
